Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes CristianoRonaldo could be sold in the summer. Ronaldo has been linked with Manchester United and PSG this week. “At the end of the season Cristiano Ronaldo will have two-years left on his contract,” Calderon told talkSPORT . “In the last years of a deal you have to renew the contract or sell the player, otherwise there’s no value for the club. “I think Ronaldo has rejected the chance to talk about a new deal because, at the end of the year, hewill wait and see what his future looks like at Real Madrid .

West Ham 2-3 Tottenham: Bale screamer moves Spurs up to third Welshman scores two on the night including sensational last- minute winner to take tally for the season up to 15 league goals By Greg Stobart at Upton Park Feb 25, 2013 10:55:00 PM Gareth Bale scored a sensational last- minute winner as Tottenham beat rivals West Ham 3-2 to move up to third in the Premier League in a thrilling encounter at Upton Park. The Welshman took his tally for the season to 15 league goals as he slammed a 35-yard rocket into the top corner past West Ham goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, who was fantastic throughout the night. Bale had himself put Spurs ahead in the 13th minute from the edge of the penalty area before Andy Carroll equalised with a penalty 12 minutes later. West Ham took the lead in the second half when Joe Cole tucked the ball in to the far corner from a tight angle, but Gylfi Sigurdsson equalised from close range 14 minutes from time. The game seemed to be heading for a draw before Bale struck at the death to move Spurs up to third place in the race for the Champions League, two points ahead of Chelsea and four points above north London rivals Arsenal. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce made four changes to the side that lost against Aston Villa, with James Collins returning in central defence and recalls for Guy Demel, Gary O’Neil and Matt Jarvis with Mark Noble ruled out through injury. Hugo Lloris was restored as Tottenham’s goalkeeper in place of Brad Friedel as Andre Villas- Boas went for height in defence, playing Jan Vertonghen at left- back with Michael Dawson and Steven Caulker paired in central defence.

Dzeko paves the way to leave Man City for Bundesliga din Dzeko could quit Manchester City in the summer after declaring he will return to Germany one day, reports the Daily Mirror. Dzeko has failed to hold down a regular place in the Blues' attack since joining from Wolfsburg just over two years ago and says he loves the Bundesliga. The Bosnian international said: "I love the Bundesliga and I will return to the Bundesliga. The only thing I don't know is when." Dzeko, who was top scorer in the Bundesliga in 2009-10, rejected claims he has met Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, but admitted he admires the German champions. "That's not true," he said. "There is a lot of talk and a lot is written. If you believed every word, I'd be playing at FC Bayern or AC Milan by now. "Dortmund are a top club. Everyone in Europe can see that and with Jurgen Klopp, they have a great coach working there."

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure suggests the club could still defend their Premier League title. The reigning champions sit 12 points behind neighbours Manchester United with 11 matches remaining and Toure feels that if City go on a winning run, they may be able to bridge the gap on the league leaders. "We have to keep on going and try and win all our games because we know United are in the top spot," he tod City TV in the wake of the 2-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday. "We needed 12 wins and we have to keep on going because we don't know the future and you can't say it is finished. "For the football club and the fans, you can't give up now. We have 11 games remaining and in sport you never know what can happen in the future.”

Pogba: I want to stay at Juventus for a long time

The French midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer of 2012 and has since impressed with a number of fine performances.

The 19-year-old's form has caught the attention of a number of top European clubs, but Pogba is keen to stay put.

"Attention from other clubs? It doesn’t interest me. I really like it here and I want to play in this shirt for a long time," Pogba was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"Personally, I’m happy because in my first year at Juventus, I’ve already scored five goals."

The midfielder has netted five times in 18 league appearances.

Arsene wenger: arsenal will challenge for 3rd place

Arsenal are ready to fight for third place, claims Wenger

The Gunners boss has set his sights on reeling in Chelsea as well as Tottenham after their victory over Aston Villa left them trailing the Blues by only two points
Arsene Wenger has claimed that Arsenal remain in the race for third place after their victory over Aston Villa brought them to within two points of Chelsea.

The Gunners currently lie in fifth and are chasing a top-four spot and Champions League qualification but Wenger believes they have a chance of overtaking the Blues as well as Tottenham.

"I'm not sure the other places are not reachable," Wenger told the club's official website. "Chelsea are only two points ahead. I'm not sure it will only be a fight with Tottenham. It could be a tight fight until the end.

"We are ready for that. We are ready to fight for the football we love to play. You could see that against Aston Villa.

"We continued to play until the last second of the game and we will continue to do that until the end of the season. Recently in the Premier League we have not conceded too many.

"But I think we have to improve a little bit the number of goals we are scoring because in recent games we created a lot of chances but didn't take advantage."

Wenger did admit that the confidence of his side remains fragile after they suffered defeats against Blackburn and Bayern Munich in the FA Cup and Champions League respectively before seeing off Villa.

"Right now, confidence is our best friend and a lack of confidence is our worst enemy," Wenger conceded. "Both of them are very fragile.

"We were nervous [against Villa] because we had absolutely to win. We had hit the wall twice in one week.

"When you drive in a car and you have an accident at 100 miles an hour. You say 'OK, we go again.'

"If you hit it again three days later. You will then drive a little bit more cautiously. That's exactly how it was."

Rafael: Giggs is an unbelievable player

Rafael: Giggs is an unbelievable player

After guiding the league leaders to a 2-0 victory over QPR on Saturday, the veteran Welshman looks set to go down in history as the Red Devil's greatest ever player
Manchester United defender Rafael says that team-mate Ryan Giggs is "an unbelievable player" and gives youngsters at the club valuable advice.

The duo were both on the scoresheet on Saturday in the 2-0 win away to QPR, in what was Giggs' 999th professional appearance for club and country, and the Brazilian right-back says that as well as being one of the top players at the club, the Welshman is a big help to the young members of the team.

"He is an unbelievable player," Rafael told reporters. "You can only say good words about him: He plays, he scores, he assists.

"He is the same in training, he just loves to play the game. He is one of the top players that I have played with.

"He gives us experience, confidence, and when you are feeling bad he comes and helps you, especially young players.

"Sometimes a young player finds it tough going and he helps them. He shows them how to do it. He knows it from playing 22 years. He pulls the player aside. He spoke to me a lot when I was young."

Giggs' goal late in the game at Loftus Road sealed the win for United that temporarily put them 15 points clear of rivals Manchester City in the title race, until Roberto Mancini's side defeated Chelsea on Sunday.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp echoed Rafael's sentiments, stating that Giggs is "top-class", and his longevity sets him aside from others.

"He is top-class, an amazing player," Redknapp stated. "It's very difficult to think of anyone with his longevity, especially now in today's modern football with the speed of the game.
